Hey there Reel Deal friends and anglers! We hope everyone is staying warm this time of year. It’s been windy and cold for us here in Clearwater Beach and that means not a lot of charters so far in 2024. Red groupers are open though and we’ve had success with getting a few on almost every trip we’ve had! Along with hogfish, mangrove snappers, lane snappers, yellowtail snappers, grunts, and porgies we have been catching and releasing some nice sized gag groupers and amberjacks. 

Like all of you we cannot wait to get back to our warmer weather. March will bring two of our favorite things: spring training baseball and nearshore trolling on all of our 4-6 hour trips for kingfish, barracuda, spanish mackerel, and more! Warmer water also means a better red grouper bite, we aren’t sure how long their season will last so lock in those springtime all day trips while you can!

Updates from Team Reel Deal:

In November we opened our office/storefront in Largo, FL Reel Deal Outpost at 1890 West Bay Drive W-7, Largo, FL 33770. With the extra space we have been able to expand our merchandise and launched our new online store:

We are excited for this expansion as we are able to get our gear shipped quickly and affordably to our customers all over the country as well as have some vendor space set up at a local market in the new Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater on Saturday February 10th and Saturday March 9th.

We have also significantly expanded our reach on social media thanks to Captain Steve’s lives on Tiktok. Did you know he often live streams when he’s heading out on his charters in the morning, returning back through the pass, and cleaning fish at the dock?
