Clearwater Offshore fishing has been on fire!

Offshore fishing has been on fire even with the closure of red grouper. Red grouper will be closed until January 1st, 2022. However, we are blessed to have many other species on the west coast of Florida to target.
Recently we did an overnight trip on the Reel Deal II and had great success on big mangrove snappers, some nice gag grouper, and a mix of small snappers including limits of yellowtail snapper.

We are starting to see more of a fall fishing pattern developing here in the past week. The Spanish mackerel have been pretty abundant within sight of the beach. We should start seeing a few king mackerel within the next few weeks as the water starts to cool a little bit.  The grunt, hogfish, and mangrove snapper bite has been pretty good lately as well.
The nearshore action has made for some fun fishing on half days recently. With some bigger fish mixed in including some snook and Goliath grouper.
The bite should only get better heading into the fall. We are excited for those kingfish to finally show up and hopefully bring some cooler weather with them.
