Red Snapper Season for Federally-Permitted Charter Boats

June 1st through August 2nd

Hello friends of Team Reel Deal! As we approach our busy summer months, we just wanted to send out some fishing news and reminders.

June 1st marks the opening of American Red Snapper and Gag Grouper for federally-permitted charter boats in the Gulf of Mexico. ARS remains open through August 2nd and Gag Grouper through December 31st. The limit for ARS is 2 per person and the limit for groupers is 2 per person (both red and gag grouper).

Recommended length for a American Red Snapper/Grouper trip are as follows (based on recent catch and releases and trends from previous years):

8 hour (all day) charter: $1200 7am-3pm Likely-limit of red groupers, some snappers
10 hour charter : $1500 6am-4pm Likely-limit of red snappers
12 hour charter : $1800 5am-5pm – Best shot at limit of both red snappers and red groupers

All pricing is the discounted cash price for a group of up to 6 people.
As of today (5/26) only the following dates in June are open for a trip this length: June 2nd, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 29th
